How Much Does an Immigration Psychological Evaluation Cost?
More of my videos are collected in my video library.
How much does an immigration psychological evaluation cost? It is the first question on most of the calls I get, and I understand why. You are already paying filing fees and attorney fees, and nobody wants a surprise. So here is the honest answer, the same one I give on the phone: it depends on your case, I quote a flat number for your case on the free phone consultation, and nothing is scheduled until you have heard it and said yes.
I do not publish a price list on this site. That is not to hide anything. It is because no single number can honestly cover every case, and a number that is right for one family would mislead the next.
Why one price cannot fit every case
An asylum evaluation for one person is a different piece of work from an extreme-hardship evaluation where I interview a spouse and two children and read hundreds of pages of records. The interview hours are different, the records are different, and the report that comes out the other end is different. If I posted one price, I would either overcharge the simple case or shortchange the complex one.
So I ask a few questions first, and then I give you a real number for your real case.
What moves the fee
Four things decide most of it. The case type and the question your attorney needs the report to answer. How many people I interview, and whether extra sessions are clinically needed. The volume of records to review: filings, declarations, medical and police records. And timing pressure, when a filing date means the work has to be compressed.
None of these are judgments about you. They are simply what takes time, and time is what you are paying for.
What the fee generally includes
The clinical interview, which generally takes two to three hours and is sometimes split across sessions. Review of the records that matter to the referral question. The structured written report, prepared for legal review. And reasonable follow-up questions from you or your attorney after the report is delivered.
If your attorney later asks for testimony or a court appearance, that is a separate piece of work and is quoted separately, directly with your attorney.
How and when you pay
Payment arrangements are confirmed during the consultation call, before anything is scheduled, so the terms are clear in advance. Cancellation and rescheduling terms are explained before you book. If you have an urgent filing date and need an expedited option, that is discussed case by case, and I tell you honestly whether it is possible rather than promising something I cannot keep.
One thing this is not
This is not the immigration medical exam, Form I-693. That exam is done by a civil surgeon authorized by USCIS, and it has its own fee. What I prepare is the psychological report for your case.
How to get your number
Call me at (754) 225-9819 or send the request form. Tell me the type of case, the language you prefer for the interview, where you are in Florida, and whether you have a deadline. You do not need to write out the details of your story. With those few facts, I call you back with real dates and a real price for your case.
On that same call I will tell you whether an evaluation actually adds something to your case. If I am not the right person for it, I say so, at no cost, so you do not lose time or money.
Common questions
Is the first phone consultation really free?
Yes. It costs nothing and carries no obligation. It exists so you can ask questions, understand the process, and hear a real quote before you decide anything.
When do I pay?
Payment arrangements are confirmed on the consultation call, before scheduling, so the terms are clear in advance.
Can I get a USCIS fee waiver if I have financial hardship?
A USCIS fee waiver, when one is available, concerns the fees USCIS charges for its own forms. It does not cover a private clinical evaluation. Ask your attorney whether a fee waiver applies to your filing.
Does a higher fee mean a stronger report?
No. The fee reflects the time the case takes: interviews, records, and writing. The report says what the clinical evidence supports, and no fee changes that or guarantees any outcome.
Your next step
Send the request form with your case type, your language, where you are in Florida and any deadline. I call you back with real dates and a price for your case.
