What you can count on
The referral question, confirmed first
Before any interview, Najla confirms with you what the report needs to answer, who should be seen, and which records matter. No report written to the wrong standard.
Honest timing, early
Reports are typically completed within seven to fourteen days of the final interview. Tell us the filing deadline or hearing date on the first call and you get a straight answer on whether it is workable.
Your client's own language
Interviews run directly in English, Português, or Español with Najla herself. No interpreter in the room, so nothing is lost between your client and the report.
Statewide by secure video
Clients anywhere in Florida are seen by secure video, or in person near Boca Raton, so distance does not hold a case up.
Written for legal review
Organized, clinical, and free of advocacy language: history, clinical findings, and a reasoned opinion tied to the referral question, so it holds up under a careful read and cites cleanly.
Testimony when the case needs it
Sworn declarations and live expert testimony, in person or remote, are available on top of the written report.
Case types
- Extreme hardship waivers (I-601 / I-601A)
- Cancellation of removal (EOIR-42B)

- I-751 abuse waivers (battery or extreme cruelty)
- Immigration court expert testimony

How a referral works
- 1. Send the referral. Call, or use the request form with your client's name, case type, preferred language, and any deadline.
- 2. Scope call. Najla confirms the referral question, who should be seen, useful records, and timing with you or your client.
- 3. Clinical interview. Generally two to three hours, by secure video or in person near Boca Raton, in English, Português, or Español.
- 4. Report. Delivered to you and your client, typically within seven to fourteen days of the final interview, with follow-up questions answered after delivery.

Common questions, answered
What attorneys ask before the first referral.
How do I refer a client?
Call the office or send the request form with your client's name, the case type, the language they prefer, and any deadline. You do not need to send case details or records to start; the intake call sorts out what is needed.
Who conducts the evaluation and writes the report?
Najla Sallum, LCSW (Florida #SW19846), personally, every time. There is no rotating staff, and she is the person you coordinate with from referral to report.
How fast is the report?
Typically within seven to fourteen days of the final interview. Complex cases, several family members, or added records can extend that. If the deadline is tight, say so on the first call and you will get an honest answer before anything is scheduled.
Can my client be evaluated in Spanish or Portuguese?
Yes. The full interview is conducted directly in Português or Español by Najla, with no interpreter.
Can you evaluate children and other family members?
Yes, when the referral calls for it, for example qualifying-relative children in hardship and cancellation cases. Interviews are adapted to each child's age and parents are part of the process.
Is testimony available?
Yes. Sworn declarations and live expert testimony, in person or remote, are available in addition to the written report.
Does the evaluation guarantee an outcome?
No. The report documents clinical findings. The adjudicator decides the case, and a report that says only what the findings support is what keeps it credible.
