Frequently asked questions

Does an evaluation in my own language change the quality of the report?

The report is written in English for the legal process either way. Being interviewed in the language of your heart usually helps you tell your story more fully — which is exactly what a good evaluation needs.

What about languages other than English, Portuguese, or Spanish?

Najla evaluates directly in those three languages. For other languages, ask any evaluator you are considering how they work with professional interpreters — it is a normal, well-established practice.

My documents are in another language. Is that a problem?

No — it is expected. Bring them as they are and tell the evaluator and your attorney what each document is. Your attorney will advise if any document needs a certified translation for the legal filing itself.

Can a family member interpret for me?

For a formal evaluation, a professional interpreter is strongly preferred. Family members mean well, but the interview touches private and painful topics, and their presence can change what you feel able to say.

This tool is educational. Results help organize information — they are not legal advice, a diagnosis, or a prediction of any immigration outcome. A licensed immigration attorney can advise you about your legal matter, and the evaluator independently determines the appropriate clinical process.
