Frequently asked questions
What documents should I bring to an immigration evaluation?
It depends on the category, but common items include identification, attorney contact information, any immigration paperwork you already have, and records that already exist — medical, counseling, police, court, or school. The checklist above sorts them by category and importance.
What if I can't get some of these documents?
That is common and expected. Records from other countries, old incidents, or unsafe situations are often unavailable. An evaluation can still move forward — tell the evaluator what exists and what does not.
Why does each item have a label like 'Ask your attorney'?
Because honesty beats a scary mega-list. Some items help in almost every case, some only when they happen to exist, and some depend on legal strategy — which is exactly the kind of question your attorney should answer.
Can I email this checklist to myself or my attorney?
Yes. The buttons above let you print it, copy it, download it as a PDF, or open a pre-written email in your own mail app. Nothing is sent through this website.

OpenThis tool is educational. Results help organize information — they are not legal advice, a diagnosis, or a prediction of any immigration outcome. A licensed immigration attorney can advise you about your legal matter, and the evaluator independently determines the appropriate clinical process.
